Air Compressors
The compressors listed here have been carefully selected to form a complete range covering the majority of home, semi-professional and professional users. Whether it be airbrushing, spraying, stapling/nailing, screwdriving, drilling or a host of other applications there is a compressor here to fit the bill. All of our compressors are manufactured to high quality standards and will give excellent performance and reliability. All the receivers are fully tested and conform to all current safety standards. Each unit comes with a full 12 months warranty and all the receivers are individually certificated. The range is backed up by an excellent spares and after sales service. We are often asked for advice from customers when choosing a compressor. Our two main pieces of advice are firstly, always look at the free air delivered by the compressor, not the piston displacement and, secondly make sure that the output of the compressor exceeds the consumption of the tool or tools. Some manufacturers quote just the piston displacement and this can mislead the unwary into believing they are purchasing a compressor with a larger capability than they are actually getting. Provided that the free air delivery from the compressor exceeds the requirement of the air tool you should not have the problem of running out of air halfway through a job. The alternative, of course, is to buy the biggest compressor at the outset on the basis that you will then have sufficient capacity for larger tools in the future.

The AWC20HP is an economically priced single cylinder oil lubricated unit with a 1.4kW high efficiency motor. The cast iron pump cylinder provides long term durability. Producing 5cfm @ 40 psi and 4cfm @ 90 psi compressed air delivery into a 24 litres air receiver. Fitted with wheels and a grab handle for easy mobility. Receiver and outlet pressure gauges are fitted along with an outlet pressure regulator. It is suitable for a whole range of general workshop uses such as small size nailing and stapling, riveting, greasing, dusting, tyre inflation, airbrushing and touchup spraying. In Line Disposable Air Filters

These in-line filters, with their centrifugal action and built in filter, will make all the difference to a sprayed finish. Air Hoses
The best way to connect up your compressed air system is to use bayonet quick release airline fittings at both the compressor and tool ends of the air hose; the fittings are easy and safe to use and allow for quick interchange of tools and hoses. The diagram below shows the recommended layout of the system - please note that the spring loaded quick release fittings should be fitted to the compressor and to the tool end of the hose so that the air is contained when either the hose or the tool are disconnected. The swivelling fittings, 410251 male and 410250 female, are highly recommended for fitting to the air tool, as they give greater flexibility in operating the tool as well as preventing snags and twisted airlines. Air Hose PVC/Nitrile

A good quality 3/8 bore PVC/Nitrile hose sold by the metre. Also available are the appropriate end fittings which push into the hose and are secured with hose clips. Order No. 100316 gives a 1/4 BSP male fitting and 100315 allows the male bayonet to fit into a quick release fitting. Quick Release Airline Fittings

A range of airline fittings that can be used to make up special hoses or to set up your compressor with quick release airline fittings.

Airline Reel
A top quality 20m high pressure airline with fibre reinforcement capable of handling up to 12 bar working pressure all fitted onto a hose reel to keep everything nice and tidy. The hose reel is supplied with Quick Release fittings and a length of hose to connect directly to the compressor; this hose connects to the top of the reel handle and incorporates a rotary seal so that the hose can be pulled off the reel without tangling the connecting hose. The reel is supplied with hooks for wall mounting if needed, although the reel complete with hose only weighs in at 3.5kg, light enough to carry around the workplace. Self-Retracting Air Hose

The Fuji Mini-Mite Xpc models feature high efficiency turbine units that are the most powerful of their type. These machines are similar in most respects to the Q Gold models but without the cost of the Qs noise deadening package. Despite this, the MiniMite Xpc models are really as quiet as any comparable HVLP system on the market. The turbines are either three or four stage, developing 6psi or 8psi, so all known coatings can be sprayed, including inks, stains, lacquers, varnishes, enamels, acrylics and so on, although some will have to be thinned before use. The four stage Mini-Mite 4 Xpc can handle latex based exterior paints rather better, so would be a good choice for building maintenace work. Complete 285ml miniature cup assembly fits all Fuji turbine spray guns (past and present) except the GT-X Gravity versions. Supplied with two extra cups and three heavy duty lids equipped with gaskets. This assembly is lightweight taking weight off the wrist. The kit includes the wearable parts that you should always have on hand. Older Fuji cups with the black-coloured lid can be converted to use the 2038 Plastic Diaphragm. If you havent upgraded yet, we recommend you do so. We have found that by using this diaphragm in combination with the 2024 pressure tube/check valve, there is very little chance of paint backing up the pressure tube. To use the diaphragm, the older 2036 gaskets are too thick so they must be exchanged for the new 2037 Thin Gasket.

The whip hose is 1.8m (6) of lightweight and highly flexible hose. It reduces the weight on the users wrist and the flexibility allows for effortless manoeuvrability of the spray gun. Workshop Air Nailers & Staplers

With the increasing popularity of low cost portable compressors has come a big increase in the use of air powered nailers and staplers in the upholstery, craftwork, furniture making and building trades. They are relatively cheap to buy, convenient to use, very productive and, provided that sensible precautions are taken, long lasting and safe to use.
A few safety and maintenance points to watch are:
Tools should be lubricated regularly and care taken to ensure that the air pressure is correct and adjusted to suit the size of nail or staple. Excessive pressure will cause unnecessary strain on the firing pin. The firing pin should be regarded as a consumable part and a spare kept to hand. Nail guns use the spent air at the end of the stroke to return the piston or firing pin to the upper position and therefore, if the gun has been used on a discharged compressor, the piston may remain in the downward position. If this should occur, and it sometimes is unavoidable, especially when the unit is new and is not worn in, the gun should be removed from the supply and the firing pin returned manually to its normal resting position. If the firing pin should break after a jam a new firing pin should be installed immediately to avoid any further damage. Always check for a broken firing pin before sending back for repair under warranty as this can easily be replaced without incurring postage or service charges.

Orbital Palm Sander

This orbital palm sander with its high speed, small diameter orbit and generous foam sanding pad is just the job for final finishing work, producing perfect results every time. It weighs 2.0kg, has a very low vibration level and a low centre of gravity. For best results, the tool should be run at a pressure of 90psi, with an increase in pressure for longer lengths of hose. This is a rugged tyre inflator with a dial reading pressure gauge, more like the one you find at the local garage. It has a 1/4 BSP female fitting. For quick release coupling use 100313 or 410251 (swivelling). Under inflated tyres decrease fuel efficiency and increase running costs. Our pressure gauge takes the guesswork out of checking your tyres are correctly inflated with an accuracy of 1.5psi. A compact design that fits comfortably in the hand, it also includes a handy tread depth gauge. The digital display is backlit making it easy to read.
