ASON Protocols
GMPLS: In a broad sense, the multi-service label switching protocol provides the functions of setting up, deleting and querying a connection, synchronization and restoration, rerouting protection. Moreover, it provides the service related functions.

OSPF-TE (routing): Flood and gather topology for calculating service path RSVP-TE (signaling): Establish and then maintain the service path LMP (link management): Discover the neighbors and links

Explanations to LMP Control Channel Check Process

A Case of the Setup Process of a Control Channel
Node A sends a Config message to Node B. If Node A receives the following information from Node B: The ConfigAck message indicates that the control channel is set up; If Node A receives the following information from Node B:The ConfigNAck message indicates that parameter negotiation fails. The control channel is not set up.

Connectivity Check

Check process
Node A keeps sending the Test message on the data link at specific time until it receives teststatussuccess or teststatufailure response on the control channel.

Check end
Node A sends the Endverify message and waits for the response. After Node A receives the EndVerifyAck message or the response times out, the check process ends.

Explanations to LMP Attribute Consistency Check of TE Link (Example)

Analysis on consistency check process of the TE link
Node A launches the check process by sending the LinkSummary message regularly. If Node A receives the LinkSummaryAck message, the consistency check succeeds if Node A receives the LinkSummaryNack message, the consistency check fails. TE Link Consistency Check between Node A and Node B

Explanations to the RSVP Protocol-Summary of General Knowledge

For LSP setup, deletion, rerouting, optimization or attribute change, the initiating node is the primary node of the service. The intermediate node and end node are passive. When they receive the message from the upstream node, they perform relevant operations.
