The word communication comes from the verbcommunicate, which means to give or exchangeinformation, news, ideas or opinions by speech orwriting. In other words, communication is the sendingof information or news from one person to another, orthe exchange of such information or news betweenpeople.Through communication people learn from oneanother the things they want to know. Imagine if human beings could not communicate with oneanother. If a person cannot communicate, he was nottalk to other people, and not other people will talk tohim or teach him anything. So it would be impossiblefor him to learn anything. Can be learn anything byhimself ?How could a child learn to do anything at all if hedid not have the chance to communicate with otherpeople, especially with his parents, brothers andsisters? He would not learn to talk and would not learnto do any other things either. Some must teach thechild. In other words, someone must communicateknowledge and skills to the child. The main way people communicate with oneanother is by speaking. Two people can communicatewith one another is by speaking. Two people cancommunicate in this way when they are near to eachother. Nowadays, however, we can use electronicinstruments like he telephone, radio and telegraph as ameans of communication. If we do not have atelephone or a radio, we can still communicate bywriting letters.Writing began when men used pictures to explaintheir thoughts to others. Now writing has become avery important means of communication. Newspapers, magazines, books and other printed materials usewriting. Since communication is important for gainingknowledge, you must communicate actively with otherpeople, especially with your teachers and friends atschool.
