Level of Job Satisfaction of Registered Nurses in Public Hospital in selected provinces of Rizal

Job satisfaction of nurses equates with their excellent performance. Even all other working individuals show the higher quality of work if there is higher compensation. There is sufficient empirical evidence to show that it tends to affect an individual, organizational and greater health and social outcomes. Nursing staffs in all parts of the world probably the most undervalued staff members despite the fact that nurses are the most ones who take care of the patient and do a variety of jobs or multi-tasking especially dealing with lots of people from all walks of life including the patient and his relatives. Wilson (2005) stated that recruitment and retention efforts need to concentrate on increasing financial incentives to these staff members and creating a desirable work place that will lead to greater job satisfaction because the expertise required of direct caregivers and the heavy workload they are assigned often far exceed the financial compensation they receive. Koonar (2008) further says that in the medical profession, nursing staffs are the one who have variety of jobs to perform and need to juggle with many jobs at many places in the hospitals or in medical centers and still are under paid and undervalued. In this study, we will dig deeper into each nurses satisfaction where in his satisfaction will manifest in his performance, compensation and dedication to his work. We will also look onto the factors that contribute to a nurses level of satisfaction such as Workload, Benefits, Job Performance, Wages, and patient care issues.

Based on the foregoing premises, this study aims to identify and determine the different levels of satisfaction among nurses that would greatly affect the attitude and behavior of nurses to a much extent as they perform their daily activities in the clinical setting.
