I hope you had a very merry Christmas! The new year of 2012 is in full swing and January has come and gone. Here is my opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year with this update. As the Norwegians say it Godt Nyttr.

This month started with teaching on Art & Artists in Gods Perspective with Marlene Dickson. Marlene came all the way from Texas to teach the students. This week of teaching is always very powerful as the students participate in what we call Redemptive art. The students pick an event or subject from their life and are asked to create a physical art piece to help in the process of God redeeming them in the area they chose. On the last day of teaching the students shared their art pieces and we prayed for them. It was very powerful indeed and God is amazing. As a staff member I saw how God has brought about change or is bringing about change in each students life. God is amazing!!! The last week of teaching before Christmas break, was with our very own Franziska. She taught us on Team life & Culture. We spend some time in our Outreach groups and got input on what its like to work as a team. In the last week before Christmas break I led worship with some students for the base. I was very excited about this and I did what I am used to when it comes to leading people in worship. I also wanted to change things up a bit. So we led the staff and students in worship with actions. I took some Hillsong Kids songs that have actions and got everyone to participate. We had tons of fun dancing and singing along to the lyric backgrounds. During the song Jesus is my Superhero we put on capes to add to the fun. On Dec 13th we had a Christmas party to celebrate this special time with each other before we had a 2-week break. It was a very cozy night of fun and fellowship. During Christmas break I headed home to Canada to spend it with my family and friends! I flew home Dec 17th. I loved being home. I had a great time and it was very relaxing which I really needed. My time at home included many times spend with family and friends, rest, Christmas parties, reading storybooks over and over again to my three year old niece, Starbucks trips and more. On Jan 1st I returned to Norway.

I returned to Norway and headed to Hamar, Norway and went to Workers Gathering at the main YWAM base (Grimerud) that was for 4 days. Then our school stayed an extra night to spend some time in the 24/7-prayer room. It was a good time despite being jet lagged most of the week. We returned home to lesund where the students jumped into a teaching week on missions. Then we welcomed Andrew Ehrenzeller to teach on Worship & Holy Spirit. Andrew is a worship leader from Florida. It was a great time of getting to know God more. I know I loved this week of teaching and so did the students. Tom Anders from the Grimerud YWAM base came to teach on The Character and Nature of God. It was a good week of digging into the scriptures to discover more of who God is. th On Jan 29 we had Love Feast which is a big party, that the staff put together to show the students how much we love them. We go all out and have a time to encourage the students and have fun! This year we had an Under the Sea Masquerade theme. On the Friday before we transformed the dining hall into an underwater masterpiece. There was even blue crust pizza and other ocean themed food. The following day we made the living room look like it too was under the sea. The weekend before I designed the invitation for the event and prepped the pieces for 50 invitations. Then some of the other staff glued them altogether. This event was tons of work but totally worth it in the end.

In my previous newsletter I mentioned that I would be leading a team of students to Armenia in March & April
My team consists of six students and myself. There are two boys and four girls. There are many opportunities for us here to share Gods love. Currently plans are being made but some details need to come together. Please keep my contact person and myself in your prayers as we continue to plan.
