A final look back 2011

Praise and Prayer
...rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer.. Romans 12:12 Were excited to update you on the results of 2011. We saw a record number 1,387 women, 202 babies are known born, and most importantly, 186 men and women trusted Christ as Savior. Over our twenty-six year ministry, weve seen 26,346 women, with at least 2,724 babies known born. Relative to our primary mission, 1,809 men and women have been led to a saving faith in Jesus Christ! Praise Him for the work done in 2011 by Lucy Droege, who is no longer on staff. Pray for open hearts to receive Jesus Pray for our April training and our need for additional male and female volunteers Pray for Rich Collier as he continues treatment for cancer

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 2 Cor. 5:17
abstaining was sinful. We shared the gospel and the need to personally trust Christ. Because we do not know when we will take our last breath, we encouraged Reed to trust Christ today. He and Shante have a New Testament. He stated he would consider what we said about the need to trust Christ.

Update: Two weeks later Jim, our male counselor in

Irvington, led Reed to Christ and is now following up on his commitment.

She changed her mind and decided to carry her baby if she were pregnant. The test revealed was negative. Gloria shared the gospel with Rachel. She had thought she was a Christian because she had grown up in a Christian home. She trusted Christ as her personal Savior during her visit to Gateway.

Rev. Belton Brevard III (above) delivered twenty food baskets to be given to some of the women whove come to our three sites.

Many thanks to the Girl Scouts of Union, NJ and their leader, Veronica Carvalho (above left) for blessing the Gateway ministry with many baby items for Christmas. Thank you to our local Girl Scouts for helping us at Gateway Pregnancy Center! We really appreciate you and your work for the community. May we share with you a message of encouragement and hope? We know that the purpose of Girl Scouts is to teach values such as honesty, fairness, courage, compassion, character, sisterhood, confidence, and citizenship through activities including camping, community service, learning first aid, and earning badges by acquiring other practical skills.

Presbyterian Church, Westfield, NJ)

But there is no real badge for FAITH. A relationship with God cannot be earned, but GOOD NEWS, any boy or girl, man or woman can trust Christ and obtain the gift of ETERNAL LIFE. Jesus said, I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10) That includes YOUR life, here and now. Is your life really the life in all its fullness that Christ promised in the Bible?

What about all my good works. They have merit, dont they? Cant good works assure me of eternal life? NO! Remember, there is no merit badge where a boy or girl can earn eternal life, although
some people try by: Being good - Going to church -Getting baptized - Helping other people.

We then shared the way any boy or girl, man or woman can trust Christ as Savior and Lord, concluding the message with this challenge .. So, Girl Scout- you would be a smart cookie to consider what you just read!
