October 16, 2008 e-mail from Senator John Warner of Virginia - explains why he voted for the US Treasury's (FED's) toubled Assets Relief Program (TARP), bailout program which allows the government to purchase (for starters) up to $700 billion worth of troubled assets from financial institutions. Of course, before the signatures were even dry on this outrageous bill the FED/Treasury bait and switched up to using the money to by equity stakes in banks instead.
