The Federal High Court of Nigeria in Abuja allowed 12 Southern Cameroonians, who
alleged that their right to self-determination under the African Charter had been
violated by the Republic of Cameroon, to maintain an action in Nigeria for an
order requiring Nigeria, as a state party to the African Charter, to present
the case of the peoples of Southern Cameroons for self-determination and
independence before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the United
Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
