o Park St Harvard section opens on March 23, 1912! o Park St - Washington Street (DTX) opens on April 4, 1915! o Washington - South Station opens on December 3, 1916! o South Station Broadway opens on December 15, 1917! o Extended to Andrew by June 29, 1918! o Ashmont Branch nished by 1927! o Color red was assigned on August 26, 1965! o South Shore Extension starts 1971 (Quincy Center), ends 1983 (Braintree)!

o Opens on March 30, 1985! o Originally designed to have 7 levels! o Were supposed to be added on shortly after! o MBTA has still yet to nd the funding (surprise) to add 2 levels! o Garage is at max capacity every day! o Stair/Elevator core is 7 stories! o Elevators have extra buttons/indicators for 7 oors due to preordering! o Immediately after the decision to build Alewife, the City of Cambridge zoned the surrounding area for high-rise commercial use.! o Because of this, the area around Alewife became home to many highly !advanced technology and bio-med rms such as E-Ink, Pzer, and !Cambridge Systematics to name a few.!
