Please help us test one of these 3 laptops and let us know if you liked it. http://bit.ly/b2yLNr - Yeah, it's free. Of course we can't give everyone, so it'll be a first come first serve basis.

To Anfield: Yes, you can swap keys between your MacBook Pro keyboards. As for retrieving the data from the MBP with the bad mobo, the only thing you can do is be adventurous, remove the internal drive yourself using the disassembly guide from ifixit.com, then spring for an enclosure or an adapter that will let you connect the bare drive to your usb port. newertech.com and granitedigital.com sell these items at fairly reasonable prices. I use USB+FW400 enclosures with older 2.5" IDE drives and the adapters with the current SATA drives on a regular basis, so there is nothing to be afraid of- an appropriate level of care must be taken so that you don't knock the bare drive around while its powered up and spinning, but otherwise, no worries.

Hi, Some help please. I have a macbook pro, the 'v' key is missing. I have a 'donor' macbook pro. Can I simply swap the key around or do have to replace the keyboard? If I have to replace the keyboard can I use the one off my donor mac or does it have to be new? The genius bar tell me that I have to buy a new one but I get the feeling they are just trying to rip me off!! Finally, my old 'donor' mac book still has all my old data on it, I damaged the motherboard so the firewire doesn't work and I can't back up the data on an external drive. Is it possible for me or the genius bar to do it another way? As i've said, my local apple store are not helpful at all. Thanks Gareth
