Help your students enhance their civic skills by participating in an online Kids Voting North Carolina election that replicates the ofcial November election as closely as possible. They can vote on many of the same U.S. and N.C. races that adults do and their results will be tallied too. Have them be part of the ofcial N.C. Kids Voting vote.
With questions before the election and for your countys results after the election, contact Kids Voting NC: info@kidsvotingnc.org or (336) 370-1776. This mock election or simulation is brought to you with support from your local schools and school system and your area newspaper (or NIE program at your area newspaper). For additional teaching ideas on leaders and leadership, visit www.AllThingsVoting.org.

Heres how:
Have your students simulate voter registration by signing a master sheet of paper. Talk to your students about the importance of responsible voting and encourage them to research candidates and issues. Arrange for your students to have computer access so they can vote any time during regular adult early voting October 18 - November 3 or on Election Day, November 6, 2012. Have your students visit www.kidsvotingnc.org and then click on the 2012 election. Have students select their county from the 100 counties that will be listed. Have them follow the directions on the site for their county. Ballots will be grade level appropriate.
