Spring is in the Air!

Students and teachers continue to be busy learners in the classroom. Be sure to stay posted on your childs classroom happenings by reading class newsletters, visiting teacher websites/blogs, and asking your children about what they learned each day! You can also view samples of student work on our school blog on the Students Shine page.

Please plan to attend this important event. Principals Advisory Council - I would like to invite you to join me in an informal gathering to discuss school concerns, ideas, and more. Our rst Principals Advisory Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 27, at 2:00 PM. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP with Mrs. Trofe or by emailing Mrs. Hilt at lynmarie_hilt@elanco.org. 3rd Grade Choral Concert- Lets Communicate! will be March 29, with a 2 PM assembly and 7 PM evening show. Our Day of Service will again be held this year, on March 30. Stay tuned for information about how your childs class will be involved in serving others. Moms and Mufns! Save the date for Friday, May 11! More details to follow. 6th Grade Celebration is scheduled for Monday, June 4. There will be a 9:30 AM whole-school assembly and a special ceremony for students, staff, and family members beginning at 6:30 PM that evening. More details to follow.

Keep on Reading! The Reading Royals reading incentive program continues through February 29. Strive to read 300 minutes and turn in your bookmark to your teacher so you can receive a free ticket to an upcoming game! Game nights are: March 14, March 18, March 23, and March 28. PSSA Reading and Math assessments will begin March 12. Please ensure your children are in attendance for the entire duration of the testing window (March 12-16, with makeup testing the following week.) More information on these assessments will be sent home in 2/24 Friday folders to grades 3-6 parents. Please read this information and contact us with any questions. Up next:PSSA Writing for Grade 5 students April 16-20 and PSSA Science for Grade 4 students April 23-27. There will be a Drug & Alcohol Awareness Night for parents on March 21, at 6:30 PM, in our Brecknock library. We felt it was important to organize this event in order to help our community stay informed about drug and alcohol use in our area and how parents can support their children in learning
