Parts Of Training Session 1.

Warm Up Session

Activity/Information during training session Start up your arm and shoulder muscles through stretches and follow it up with practicing the movement without the weights. - For the safety of competitors and bystanders do not throw shot put away from allocated pit and direction given. - After your turn of throwing the shot put, place it on the ground for the next competitor to safely pick up. Do not throw or roll the shot put to the next person. - All bystanders must stand a fair distance behind the thrower so that they are not in danger of being hit with the shot put. - Do not turn your back on the throwing circle. - Cock hand back and place the shot put on the base of your fingers and not on your palm. - To start off begin with no run up and just a stand throw position facing sideways. When throwing the shot put, keep your elbow high and deliver it by punching the shot put away from your neck. - Repeat the steps, but with an addition to the throwing technique; add a bend to your legs so that your weight is evenly spread out among your legs which provide more balance. - To progress from the last step, giving a swing to your throw will provide more force and result in a longer throw. To swing, keep your feet always in the same side position, keep the shot put under your ear, then swing your body sideways in a pivot motion and then swing back and release.

4. Feedback

Feedback is important for an athlete as it tells them what they did wrong so that they can improve in their faults and become a better competitor. -One feedback response you could tell the athlete is

5. Cool Down

Slow down muscles with light stretches, not rapid movements but gentle and light movements that will slowly cool down heated up muscles.

Importance to developing an athletes peak performance Practice By practicing this allows the athlete to refine and improve in the areas on uncertainty. Learning Environments The learning environment in which the athlete performs in varies between different places. For example inside and outside. When training outside, your peak performance could be affected by, rain, wind, sunlight in your eyes and uneven grounds.

Force

Applying Mechanical Principle to the Chosen Sport When applying force to your performance, usually a swing or run up, produces more force to the shot put. To apply stability when performing in shot put, an important factor is to keep your feet about a shoulder width apart.

How Does the Principle Assist In The Athletes Overall Performance By doing a run up or swing this pushes the shot put outwards further and results in a more powerful and longer throw. By standing a shoulder width apart this helps the athlete keep stable and balanced when throwing the shot put. By standing in this position it lowers your centre of gravity and this helps absorb to absorb force.

Feedback

Throwing Technique

We go through the way that they have to throw the shot put and the placement of the shot put. We then give each player a turn of throwing the shot put.

Run Up

We teach the group to do a run up which consist of a couple of run up steps that helps to add more force to the throw.
