IT
Repository: IT is a very important term in OBIEE. It basically stores the Meta data information. Each meta data repository will store many business models. It will have in Oracle BI folder in the .rpd format .rpd Path: C:\OracleBI\server\Repository\sample.rpd
Physical Layer: Contains Object representing the Physical data source to which Oracle BI Server submit queries and the relationship between physical databases and other data sources. May Contain Multiple Data Sources Is Typically the first layer built in the repository The most common way to populate physical layer is by importing meta data from databases and other data sources. In this we can create alias Tables Joins: Represent the primary key- foreign key relationship between tables in the physical layer. These are known as physical joins Physical Layer Objects Database Object Connection Pool Schema folder Tables Columns Keys
Joins: In this we will create the logical joins these are known as Logical Complex Joins. express the cardinality relationship between logical tables and required for a valid business model BMM Layer Object s: Business Model (Subject area) Dimension Hierarchies Logical dimension tables Logical fact tables Logical table source Logical columns Measures
Presentation Layer
Provides a way to present a customized view of business model users Expose only the data meaningful to the users Organizes the data in a way that aligns with the way users this about the data. Renames data as necessary for the set of users Objects of Presentation Layer Presentation catalogs Presentation table Presentation column Presentation Catalogs: These are allow you to show different views of business model to different set of users. Presentation catalogs have to be populated with contents from a single business model. However, multiple presentation catalogs can refer to the same business model.
1. Selecting a subject area 2. Contracting a request 3. Modifying request criteria 4. Changing column Order 5. Create filters 6. Displaying request results 7. Modifying the results layout 8. Saving a request
Interactive Dashboards:
It is a hyper link. It is used by the end users only. The dashboard tab displays saved Interactive dashboards in the Oracle BI presentation catalog. Saved Interactive Dashboards can also be viewed and modified by using the OBI Answers interface.
