Cloud computing means a technology, which involves virtualization, distributed computing, networking, software and web services. The elements that are included in a cloud may consistof mobiles clients, datacenters and distributed servers. Major issues and challenges thatshould be considered in developing a cloud environment includes fault tolerance, highavailability, scalability, flexibility, reduced overhead for users, reduced cost of ownership, ondemand services etc. To overcome these issues different algorithms and techniques have beendeveloped that includes load balancing, resource optimization and scheduling to enhance the performance of cloud environment. In a cloud environment resources can be shared amongmany servers and nodes to overcome many issues like scalability, reliability and utilization. In this project a mobile cloud environment is created and different techniques are developedto ensure that all the jobs performed in the mobile cloud should be shared among virtualservers. Furthermore job scheduling techniques like Particle Swarm Optimization techniqueshave been introduced to schedule the jobs performed by each virtual machine running in themobile cloud.
First of all I would like to thank to Almighty ALLAH who gave me the strength to finish this project. Then I would express my profound sense of gratitude towards my supervisor Dr.Maozhen Li
, Professor, Department of Engineering and Design
, for his able guidance, support and encouragement throughout my entire one year of study. His readiness for consultation at all times, his educative comments, his concern and assistance even with practical things have been invaluable.I would also like to convey my sincerest gratitude and indebtedness to our entire facultymembers and staff of the Department of Engineering and Design, Brunel University WestLondon, who bestowed their efforts and guidance at appropriate times without which it wouldhave been very difficult on my part to finish the project work. Finally, I would like to thank my parents, my family members and friends for their unconditional love and selfless support.
