During the last year, the repo and off lease market has expanded by leaps and bounds and it is hard to keep track of its size. Therefore the lender/dealer must move his inventory quickly or it will depreciate. Lenders are competing with other lenders for a small supply of customers. They must act according or its liquidity will dry up quickly. With GM, Ford, Chrysler and now Citicorp showing tremendous volatility and requesting financial assistance from the government, it is scary for all lenders.
