Prototype construction After all the detailed analysis of the desired output of the project has been obtain

and after the design has been completed and analyzed based on the technical specification of the different components to form the prototype, the proponents bought all the required components, materials and supplies in Manila in able to start the prototype construction. First, the proponents start the layout for the power supply circuit, high powered control circuit, low powered control circuit as well as the alarm circuit in the PCB. After the layout, the etching follows with the use of the mixture of hydrogen peroxide and muriatic acid. After the etching of the PCB, putting and soldering all electronic components in the PCB follows. Checking the placement and proper soldering of the components is needed in able for the circuit to function hence. Using different electronic equipment such as multi-tester can also be used inable to test the circuit functionality. After all the components have been placed and after all the components are tested, all circuits are case in the fiber glass casing to make it more presentable. After this, the construction f the miniature for two rooms is established by using plywood and other constructing tools. Placing and wiring all circuit in order for the system to function. After this, Adding LED, switch, 220V outlet and installing the electronically controlled locked on the room miniature follows. After all the components have been placed, and after all the necessary procedures have been taken, the proponents interfaced the prototype to the PC where the program is saved. Connecting the Barcode and Biometric in the PC to test the functionality of the whole system follows. After the proponents tested and conclude that the prototype is already functioning, Lastly, the testing and evaluation with corresponding surveys and questionnaires have been done in the College of Engineering and Technical

Department with the target respondents to determine the functionality of the prototype.

Testing and Validation

After the prototype has been constructed, the proponents conducted series of testing and trial to measure its performance and functionality.

First Trial The proponents test the low and high powered circuitry to test its functionality by using 12Vdc power supply, but it didnt function. Solution Re-soldering and placing each of the components are conducted so that it will function as expected. Checking every component in the PCB is really necessary to assure its functionality.

Second Trial The proponents interfaced the PC Program to the control circuit using the RS232 interface, but it didnt response. Solution Checking the wiring connection of the RS232 DB25 to DB9 and the proponents find out that it has a misconnection, therefore re-wiring of the data interface was conducted to assure its functionality.

Third Trial At first, the proponents used only one power supply to the whole system, excluding the computer unit, but the electronically controlled lock didnt function.

Solution The proponents started checking the wiring connection but they conclude that the connection was right. After this, they checked the supply voltage, they found out that the power supply cant provide the necessary voltage and current needed by the electronically controlled lock so therefore the proponents design and construct another two power supply for the lock. The following trials were made but the researchers didnt encounter any problems or errors anymore.

The proponents also conducted an evaluation for students to determine if the study met its objectives .The proponents use five-point Likert scale to identify respondents level of agreement with criteria which will determine the over-all performance of the prototype. The respondents evaluated the prototype from 5 = Excellent, 4 = Very Satisfactory, 3 = Satisfactory, 2 = Unsatisfactory, 1 = Very Unsatisfactory. Using the tables, the results of the evaluation were interpreted and illustrated. In tabulating the data, the researchers used averages as well as the weighted mean to determine the functionality of the prototype.
