Management 309 is a survey of the field of management for all non-business majors. GRADING AND EXPECTATIONS: Students are expected to attend class, and to stay current with the text. I will not be taking roll, however, I believe that attending class will give you a better understanding of the material, therefore improve your course grade and your retention of the material. I ask that students do not use a computer during class unless approved by me. On some days, class lecture will parallel the text, while others days, material will be covered that is not found in your textbook. You are responsible for everything covered in class, regardless of your attendance. Please check with other students regarding this information on days you are unable to attend class, as I do not provide that information due to absences. Class will start and finish on time each day, so make every effort to be here at the start of class. Please do not leave early unless it is absolutely necessary and unavoidable. If you have an appointment such that you need to leave early, please sit in a seat near the back of the classroom that day. If you arrive after class has begun, please sit in the back of the classroom so that you minimize distracting others while finding a seat. Course grades will be based on four exam grades. Each exam will be administered during regular class time and will consist of 40 multiple-choice questions. Each question, in turn, will be worth 2.5 points, therefore making each exam worth up to 100 points. Final grades will be based on the overall class distribution of total points, with a potential range from 0 to 400 points. 360 - 400 points 320 - 359 points 280 - 319 points 240 - 279 points 0 - 239 points A B C D F

I will not curve individual exam grades or final cumulative points. Please do not ask for additional points at the end of the semester. Exams will consist of multiple choice questions. The exams will not be cumulative and will only cover material not covered by previous exams. I do not give exams early under any circumstances. If you enter the exam after a student leaves the exam, you will be given a make-up exam. Make-up exams are part multiple choice, part short answer/fill-in the blank. EXAM PROCEDURE: You are asked to bring your UIN (NOT SS#) and photo identification with you on test days (e.g., student ID card or drivers license). You also are responsible for supplying your own scantrons for all tests. The appropriate form is the Texas A&M University Measurement and Research Services scantron. It is 8-1/2 x 11 and is blue-gray in color. In addition, be sure to bring number #2 pencils to class on test days. There will be a 5-point penalty deducted on your exam grade (equivalent to two missed questions) if you fail to fill out the scantron correctly.

ADA POLICY: The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal anti-discrimination statute that provides comprehensive civil rights protection for persons with disabilities. Among other things, this legislation requires that all students with disabilities be guaranteed a learning environment that provides for reasonable accommodation of their disabilities. If you believe you have a disability requiring an accommodation, please contact the Disability Services in Suite B118 in Cain Hall, or call 845-1637. For additional information, visit http://disability.tamu.edu. No accommodations will be provided to students unless they are registered with the Office of Disability Services. Those students that are registered should contact me at least three days prior to the first examination. SCHOLASTIC DISHONESTY: Scholastic dishonesty (including cheating and plagiarism) will not be tolerated. Scholastic dishonesty by a few is grossly unfair to the majority of students who are honest. Cases of apparent scholastic dishonesty will be pursued to the fullest extent allowed by University regulations. AGGIE HONOR CODE: An Aggie does not lie, cheat, or steal or tolerate those who do. Upon accepting admission to Texas A&M University, a student immediately assumes a commitment to uphold the Honor Code, to accept responsibility for learning and to follow the philosophy and rules of the Honor System. Students will be required to state their commitment on examinations, research papers, and other academic work. Ignorance of the rules does not exclude any member of the Texas A&M University community from the requirements or the processes of the Honor system. For additional information please visit: http://www/tamu.edu/aggiehonor/ EXAMINATION RESULTS: Grades will be posted on eLearning within three days of the exam date. You can access eLearning via the home page (https://elearning.tamu.edu/). EXAM REVIEW: You will be able to review your exams generally two days after the exam grades are posted and ending the day before the next exam. The results will be available to review during the TAs posted office hours. Only the score report will be available, not your actual exam or scantron. It is important that you ensure accuracy on the scantron, as the actual exam will not be used for evaluation and will not be reviewed in the event of a scantron error. MISSED EXAMINATIONS: Absences from an exam will be excused for a university-approved absence. See http://student-rules.tamu.edu for reasons that constitute an excused absence from an exam. Please note that I do not accept the Explanatory Statement for Absence from Class form unless accompanied by a valid doctors note. Students who miss an exam for an unexcused reason will be allowed to take the make-up exam, but a 25-point deduction will be assessed.

If you miss an exam, please e-mail the class T.A., either before the exam or as soon as possible after missing the exam, but no later than the second day after the date of absence. Make sure you include your name, student ID number, phone number, and reason for missing the exam. When you come for the make-up examination, you must bring a copy of your documentation to the exam. Please make sure the documentation has sufficient information so it can be verified. Assuming the student has returned from their excused absence, the make-up exam must be taken prior to the next scheduled exam to avoid receiving a 0. Make-up exams are part multiple choice, part short answer. EXTRA CREDIT: Any extra credit opportunity will be announced during class and posted on the class webpage. Please make sure you check the website for information and dates related to the extra credit. You will only be able to participate in one extra credit opportunity, and it is your responsibility to sign-up for and complete the extra credit before the assignment deadline to receive any credit. BUILDING POLICY: We have beautiful and state-of-the-art classrooms in the Wehner Building. We want to maintain the high quality conditions of these classrooms for the students in future years. Thus, it is necessary for you to adhere to the established policy of NO BEVERAGES (with the exception of water), FOOD, TOBACCO PRODUCTS, OR ANIMALS (unless approved) within the Wehner building classrooms. QUESTIONS: I will be glad to answer any questions you may have during, before, or after class. When possible, please use my e-mail to discuss questions or concerns you have about the course, material, or grading outside of class hours.
