Length-87 hours: (55 theory hours + 32 lab/clinical hours)Frequency:

Description:
This very rigorous
course provides the current fundamental knowledge and skills for nursing and other related health-care professions, including AHA Health Care Provider Basic Life Support/First Aid. It isdesigned to prepare students to successfully complete the MT state certification exam for CNAs and for employment inlong-term care settings. Students will be introduced to nurse assisting as an ever-increasingly valuable career based onethical health care principles that respect client individuality and promote optimum wellness, restoration, rehabilitation, andindependence in all dimensions of health and wellness.
Program Outcomes:
-Students will recognize the nursing assistant as a fundamentally valuable, highly-needed, respectable member of the healthcare team providing care based on ethical principles that respect client individuality and promote optimum wellness,restoration, rehabilitation, and independence in all dimensions of well-being.-Students will be prepared to successfully demonstrate the fundamental nursing knowledge and skills required by OBRAand MT-DPHHS for nurse assistant certification.-Local students will be certified in AHA Health Care Provider Basic Life Support and First Aid. *This may be an option for distance sites, as well, with special arrangements.
