Overview
Third-Party Web widgets are nice tools that you canuse on your site without having to load any additionalcode modules. Typically, you would embed someJavaScript code on your site to display the widget.It may appear that you can only embed the widgetson a standard web page, a social networking page, ora blog. By using the right web part, you can easilyembed a widget on a SharePoint page.The following step-by-step instructions illustrate howto embed a widget on your SharePoint site. In thisexample, we will be embedding the Yahoo! Mapswidget on SharePoint site

Directions
1. In your browser, go to the site where you want to add the widget.2. Select
Site Actions – Edit Page

Please use caution whenusing third-party web widgetson your site. Some widgetsare malicious, like theFacebook
Secret Crush 
widget,which lured users to install theinfamous Zango adware.
 
Please be prudent whenadding widgets to your site.Since you are embedding codeon your page to make arequest to a third-party site,you are increasing yournetwork traffic, which willaffect your site performance.

3. Click the
Add a Web Part Button
in the web part area where you would like to add thewidget. In this example, I am adding the widget in the right web part area.4. Scroll until you see the
Content Editor Web
Part, which should appear under theMiscellaneous section.5. Select the
Content Editor Web Part
by clicking on the checkbox to check it.
