Diary 32
What I’m going to do from now on is separate my diaries with DR Studios and Commando Kiwi
DR Studios
Not often I say this but it has been a little bit of a slow week; it’s most likely because most of the office has been
ill withthe Flu (man Flu more like) so it has been a little bit silent in the
office which is rubbish really. I’ve making some
tutorials for a peace of kit that we maybe releasing in the near future to possible students.
Commando Kiwi
The big question is; can we d
eliver a quality game in such a short amount of time… I hope so! We had a great meeting
this week as lots of targets were hit
on time which really makes a change as a lot of the time we are like “Sorry but no!”
I’ve been asking myself recently “Am I experienced enough to go for a Junior Designer role?” which is a lot harder toanswer than I thought it might be. I’m at less
on 30 in my T2G course work and I have gained valuable experienceworking at DR Studios and also part of my Commando Kiwi team. The big question is this, if we win this should we go completely Indie or with a Publisher; they both have there goodand bad sides to each decision. If we go with a publisher
we won’t have complete creative control of whatever IP we work on but we will be able to
benefit from a steady income and help from industry veterans which we may need.

Yay iSchool Dreams: My Valentine is finally out and thank goodness, I’ve worked long hours on this and it finally paysoff just to see your name in the game credits section. I’m hoping that one
day that I will be able to look back and saywith a smile on my face that a girly game was my first title.
So if you like Bump’n’chat girly games I definitely
recommend iSchool Dreams: My Valentine
because I’m not bias at all
.
Well I think it’s time to talk about
Commando Kiwi aka my second full-time job update; we have now finally picked a logo for our little indi studio whichwas made By Dave Higgins which we really appreciated so thank you somuch! You can have a look at our other logo submissions on our Facebook pagehere. The reason why we did this little logo challenge was to show that we allwill always listen to the audience and bring all their input into our ongoinggames if we win this.Things are slowly coming along and so is my loss in hair growth which as youcan imagine very stressful. To be a full indie requires so much patience, I feelalmost like the Zen-Buddha of calm. I feel sorry for all the other teamcaptains as I feel as if I must separate my friendship from my work to getbetter result for this competition so I imagine they are doing the same. I willtalk more about this a later date but until then Kiwi fans keep it real.
