This Minnesota Commercial Driver’s Manual is intended to help beginning drivers of trucks and buses prepare for the knowledge and behind the wheel tests for a MinnesotaCommercial Driver's License. This manual is also useful in reminding experienced truck and bus drivers of their responsibilities as professional drivers to practice safe and legaldriving at all times.Truck and bus travel has been on the increase and will continue to grow. At the sametime these big vehicles are becoming longer, wider, higher and heavier. The numbers of vehicles trying to share the road is also growing faster than ever. As the truck industrycontinues to grow, the public more than ever, wants the commercial driver to be qualifiedto operate their vehicles safely.One way to help insure that the drivers are qualified is to improve the knowledge andskills of the drivers, especially the beginning drivers. By studying the manual anddemonstrating the minimum knowledge, skills and ability needed to drive withreasonable safety it is hoped that you may be on your way to becoming a professionalcommercial driver.This manual provides the reader with a general familiarity with the principles of safe andlawful operation of a motor vehicle.
