wasactuallyabigimprovementoverthesituationwewereinbeforethat.Atleastwewerenolongerdescendingintodebt.Toreduceourexpenses,wemovedintoacheaperapartment,notthatwehadachoice-we'djustgottenbootedfromourpreviousapartmentaftergettingbehindonourrent.Unfortunatelythenewapartmentwasonasemi-busystreet,andthetrafficnoisesometimesmadeithardtosleepatnight.Theworstwaswhenpeoplewouldpull

theircarradiosbooming.Technicallysincewewerebothself-employed,
this
wasn'tquiteapaycheck-to-paychecksituation,butithadthesameeffect.Wewerebothworkinghard.Wejustweren'tmakingmuchmoney...onlyenoughtocoverourbasicexpensesbutnotenoughtobuildanysafetynet.Irememberreelingabitstressedduringthattime.Ifanythingbadhappened,like

ourcarbrokedownandneededrepairs,wewereinbadshape.Weeventuallygotoutofthatsituationandleftitbehind,notsomuchbytakingcertainactionsbutbyshiftingtoadifferentmindset.Herearesomesuggestionsbasedonwhatwelearnedbackthenfurotherswhostruggle
