soonest and wannabe are not words, change should be inspired. By demanding change and taking yourself out of the process you are being part of the problem.

So now there are three groups in India asking people not to vote. Separatists of Kashmir, Maoists, and this "don't vote" group. This is terribly and fundamentally wrong.

We as investors (tax payers), shareholders (voting rights), auditors (RTI act) and customers of the company called Government. We should take complete responsibility for our failure in monitoring the system effectively. It is we citizens who have let things come and stand where there are now,.

Refusing to utilize one of the tools in our arsenal will only let things go further downhill. A sensible thing to do is to be more proactive and ensure democracy works for everybody, not just politicians and bureaucrats.

@ DigitalD
The rule only allows for no voting. But it would not have any impact on the election results. As no voting cannot be equated with negative voting. The same candidates can stand again for re-elections.
So what will we achieve by using this provision???

I have confirmed with the Election Commissioner that the rule 49-O is valid and can be used by anyone.

You just have to go to your respective polling booth, get
your name marked, get the finger marked and inform the Polling Officer that you do not wish to vote for any of the candidates.

You might be asked to give a written declaration for the same, but its not mandatory and depends totally on the Polling Officer at the booth.

Please go ahead and spread the word.

Commendable work.

Action steps in my opinion:
Localize the manifesto in as many Indian languages as pos, so the message can reach a greater mass.
