To be fair, and accurate, the day/night slides are not real single photographs, rather composites of enhanced images assembled by NASA over many months showing, conceptually, what it looks like near the terminator, or that twilight area between day and night.

These pictures are fake - there are no clouds on the pictures, no atmospheric fuzzyness on the edge of the earth, and the transition between dight and day is too abrupt
