Dear MAAC members,Welcome to the 2

We are confident that in 2009 you will enjoy qualityactivities by MAAC. Thanks to the Air Gun Sports Commission members in this issueyou will find a full dairy of events planned for 2009. The program is set up to provideMAAC members a vast array of air rifle and air pistol activities throughout the year, inopen match format. In the month of November MAAC has officially become an affiliated club in the
United Kingdom Association for Hunter Field Target (UKAHFT).
To celebratethis 2

. All details can be found in the web site. Before this affiliation took place the Activity Program for 2009was already decided, however I am more then certain that the MAAC Airgun Sports Commission will slot in at least 3 HFTevents in 2009. The HFT rules that will be used on the 14
th
December 2009 will be temporary rules that were set up by MAAC,however due to the UKAHFT affiliation, in 2009 we will start to use the UKAHFT rules specially customized for Malta with theapproval of UKAHFT. The 2008 activity program will end on
Sunday 22
nd
December 2008
with the last open match for
AirRifle Bench Rest
. We will have the honor to host with us
ERABSF President Mr. Carlo Caricato
for this match. The MAACcommittee decided also that all the funds generated from the Bench Rest competition on the 22
nd
December 2008 and otherdonations collected on that day will be donated to
L-ISTRINA
. It is good that as a club we also help those in need in thisoccasion, thus we urge all members to be present to support this initiative with their donation. The Sports commission commissioned projects that will enhance the quality of our shooting range with infrastructure thatgives you the opportunity to practice your favorite sport. These projects include, 4 new Bench Rest shooting tables, a set of 8permanent FT training targets set at ranges between 15 and 50 meters, new action pistol timers to be used in Steel PlateChallenge and Air Pistol Dynamic Shooting and a set of 8 BR Target stations. Some of these investments are alreadycompleted while others we predict to finish by end of 2008. This is investment done from your contributions and with specialdedication from our members. It is very important that we take care of our equipment and maintain it to high standards. Eachand every MAAC member must be proud of this and cannot tolerate any irresponsible damage done to equipment by misuseor carelessness. MAAC will not tolerate waste of resources and the precious time our members dedicate to fabricate thisequipment. The new year is on the door step, although we did a lot in a relatively short time, we still have much more to do. This is anongoing process to elevate our sport. We will start 2009 with a new set up committee that will ensure smooth running ofMAAC and the VSR Airgun Range. Details will be made available in the January edition of this news letter. I would like tothank you all for your support and wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and best wishes in health and prosperity inthe New Year.
Best regards.Stanley ShawMAAC Chairman
