Candidates should also possess sound working knowledge and training in:(i) Data manipulation and analysis;
(ii) Project Management;(iii) Report Writing;(iv) Team Work, Management and Supervisory skills;(v) Sound conceptual and analytical skills; and(vi) Computer Proficiency in a Statistical Software (e.g. SPSS, SAS etc.), MicrosoftOffice Suite (MS Word, Excel), Microsoft Project 2000, Adobe Acrobat andSearch Engines.
Candidates with the following experience would be at a distinct advantage:(i) Working experience with trade, business or economic data in CARIFORUMStates; and(ii) Familiarity with the process of developing market access offers and requestsin CARIFORUM/CARICOM, particularly for trade in goods.
4. NATURE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION
Under the guidance of the LDC Trade Policy/Technical Adviser, the
will be required to:
(a) IDENTIFY, COLLECT, PREPARE AND COLLATE
all relevant tariff and tradedata for CARIFORUM States consistent with the format used in
all segments of
with the data which has been prepared;
data on CARICOM/CARFORUM market access offers and requests ingoods for all trade agreements covered in
(d) REVIEW AND REVISE
as appropriate, the operational features of
a training module for training of national trade and other officialson the use of
training activities at the national level for trade and other relevantofficials in CARICOM Member States;
telephone or online support to the OTN and Member States usersof the database;
telephone or online support to address technical matters related tothe operation of the data base, if necessary; and
any general maintenance and update of the database, asnecessary.
