A Prince George, British Columbia man is wanted in Costa Rica to face multiple counts of felony fraud. Interpol has posted an international wanted persons alert for 46 year old Bruno Saligari. Saligari is wanted in connection with an alleged fraudulent transaction involving a home and property in Costa Rica.
As reported by the criminal court of Pérez Zeledón , Costa Rica, Bruno Saligari was indicted for the following crimes: simulation of fraud, falsifying legal documents, presenting falsified documents as authentic and corporate fraud.
If convicted Mr. Saligari could face a maximum prison sentence of 37 years in Costa Rica.
On March 3, 2012 at the Cancun International airport (CUN), an Air Canada flight from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada had landed and was refused by Mexican authorities to dock at it's designated terminal. After an approximate delay of 20 minutes, passengers became uneasy and demanded an explanation.
Shortly thereafter the captain would announce that no one was permitted to disembark from the plane. Additionally he would announce that Mexican officials were requesting passenger Bruno Saligari to exit the plane escorted by immigration officials.
Mexican officials confirmed that Mr. Saligari was denied entry to the country due to an outstanding international arrest warrant for him through Interpol.
He was detained and sent back to Canada on the next available flight.
We were unable to reach legal council for Bruno Saligari for which the criminal court of Pérez Zeledón would later confirm, Saligari is represented by a public defender and has not retained legal council in that country.
Bruno Saligari has denied any request for comment.
