REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS:Mobile Bike Shop in Wards 7 & 8 of the District of Columbia
As part of WABA’s 2012 Biking East of the Anacostia Campaign
The Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) seeks a subcontractor or sub-grantee to provide bicyclerepair services and bicycle-related outreach to the residents of Wards 7 and 8 of the District of Columbia as
part of our 2012 Biking East of the Anacostia Campaign. We hope to provide five (5) “mobile bike shop”
dates, in sum, spanning April through August 2011.
The subcontractor/sub-grantee shall provide necessary tools, staff, and equipment to providebicycle repair services to residents in Ward 7 and Ward 8 on five (5) occasions of four hours inlength, with locations and dates to be determined by WABA.
The subcontractor/sub-grantee shall provide bicycle repair services, including but not limitedto: brake and derailleur adjustments, tire and tube patch/change/replacement, generalmaintenance and repair, and safety inspection.
The subcontractor/sub-grantee shall assist in the distribution of promotional materialsprovided by WABA, and endeavor to meaningfully serve the maximum number of bikes/cyclistswithin their capacity.
The subcontractor/sub-grantee shall accept liability, within applicable law, for work performedby the contractor, its staff, volunteers, or other workers operating within the scope of thisactivity.
The subcontractor/sub-grantee shall provide all necessary reporting and supportdocumentation required, with content and format approved by WABA and applicable programfunder(s).
All proposals should include a brief narrative describing the organization or individual’s capacity to meet
the outlined responsibilities, as well as a budget to achieve the outlined responsibilities, including amountsfor consumables, staffing, etc.
WABA will evaluate submitted proposals based on cost-effectiveness and program effectiveness.
