This book is the first baking and cake-decorating book that shows readers how to fit cake-making at home into a busy, modern lifestyle. Busy moms, working women and all dessert lovers will be amazed at what they can do in under an hour, in two hours or in an afternoon. It includes detailed instructions for 25 unique and delectable projects that make every technique easy to follow, either for a time-starved baking expert or a cake decorating novice.

Ruth Clemens is a baker, cake decorator and very busy wife and mother. Completely self taught, Ruth’s passion for baking and sugar crafting shine through on her popular blog, ThePinkWhisk.co.uk. She lives in Cheshire, UK.

Introduction
 Welcome to
The Busy Girl’s Guide to Cake Decorating!
I’m guessing youhave this book because you fancy your hand at a spot of cake decorating, you don’t have much time and are the typical ‘busy girl’. Well, you’re in the right place. This book is all about cake decorating without the fuss, the palaver and sometimes the tears too!
The projects within the book are split into three sections. The
Evening Whip-Ups
(one-hour projects) are perectwhen you have very little time, and are easy to throw together one evening ater work. The
Half-Day Delights
(two-hour projects) are or when you have an aternoon to spare. Finally, the
Weekend Wonders
(three- to our-hour projects) are or when you’ve got a bit more time available in your schedule! In cake-decorating terms, all o the above are tiny amounts o time – large, intricate projects take proessionalcake decorator’s days, i not weeks, o work. We busy girls don’t have the time or the patience (OK then, that’s justme) to create those kinds o works o art but this book contains stunning projects that can be achieved in nextto no time.I cheat, I do things the quick way or maximum impact, I’ll have ‘traditional’ cake decorators up in arms with mykamikaze ways but, hey, it is what it is and I was never one to toe the line. I am the typical busy girl (perhaps morethe busy than the girl these days) – I have three young boys needing my attention, wanting punctures fxed, thepaddling pool flling up and eeding every two minutes; a bustling household flled with amily, riends and pets;and not orgetting the other ‘boy’ in the house, my husband. So here it is,
The Busy Girl’s Guide to Cake Decorating
 – the perect place to start your oray into the world o cakes. So let’s get this show on the road – cake decorating – the busy girls’ way
