-in. Using Butterworth’sbook as a “springboard”,we will look at the gospelof Jesus in a new context,with repeated emphasison the idea of “Christ inyou.” That is Butterworth’sdescription of his work.In our Sunday medita-tion times we’ve taken aconscious journey withinourselves to connect with
our Christ. We want to
know it, feel it, know itswisdom and establish arelationship with it.Even as I write “it” I amreally referring to us be-cause there is only one-ness, no separation.So, in essence, we are journeying to know our-selves at a deeper level.That’s what our year willbe about and we will usemany different writings tohelp us explore the topic.On Sunday January8th, I will be offering our annual Spiritual Baptismceremony using water from the River Jordanthat I brought home withme from my visit there.Our Unity co-founder,

No more New Year’s resolutions, only “happy goals”

n the past, the NewYear has not been my
favourite time. I nd
January a bit of a letdownafter the busyness of theholidays; my businesssometimes slows downand there are at leastthree full months of winter before we see thosecrocuses peak their prettyheads out of the snow. And then, of course,there is that issue of New Year’s resolutions.
Whether you want to lose
or maintain your weight,get fit, quit smoking or reduce your credit carddebt, as often as not, bythe end of January thecommitments have goneby the wayside and youare feeling badly becauseyou didn’t have the stick-to-itiveness to keep your resolutions.For me there are no moreNew Year’s resolutions.There are only happy goals – like two international
trips in 2012, taking more
Spanish classes, travellingwith my sisters, and atleast six pedicures a year.Those are goals that I amdelighted to achieve.So, you may ask, whatabout all those resolutionsthat I “should do” like losingweight, going to bed earlier,
and working out. Well, I
am working with those inmy “success journal. A“success journal” is whereyou record that which youconsider a success in your life.For example, my goalis to work out three timesa week and most weeksI have challenges withthat. So, any time that Iwork out is a success for me. In fact, every timethat I go for a walk or do anything physical isa success and is worthnoting. Over the last twoyears, I have worked out
182 times which is huge
for me. I don’t beat myself up if I only work out oncea week. Instead, I focus onmy accomplishment – I amstill working out, I am stillpaying for my membershipand next week is another opportunity for me torecommit to my goal.
Yippee!

Bluestone Properties, our landlord, chose to donate$500 a month to Unity of London;The Mexico CondoLottery was sold out for the second year in a row;Unity of Londonestablished a “New HomeFund” with more than$2,000 in it;Our Ministerial student,

and we celebrated inher success;Nine new congregantscommitted to be membersof Unity of London;
Our nances are “in the
black”;The vast majority of our congregants volunteeredtheir time and talents inmany different ministries tomake Unity of London runsmoothly and efficiently.Please acknowledge your success as a volunteer andpat yourself on the back. Also, take the opportunity totell someone else that theyare “difference makers”. As we move through
2012, I request that we
