Since 2007 Graceworks Lutheran Services hasgenerated $232 million in economic impact orthe Dayton area and tri-state region.* Throughdirect expenditures or goods and servicesand resulting fnancialinteractions amongbusinesses, consumersand producers in theregion, Graceworksproduced an incremental137 regional jobs dueto business activityand 440 more regionaljobs through the rippleeect in consumer retailactivities stimulated byGraceworks.Incorporated in 1926,Graceworks LutheranServices has advancedits mission and valuesor over 80 years.Helping people o allaiths experience dignityand wholeness in their lives is the missionthat guides Graceworks Lutheran Services inthe delivery o a broad array o residential andpersonal services in more than 50 locationsthroughout southwest Ohio, southeast Indianaand northern Kentucky.With headquarterslocated on the 100-acreBethany Village campus inCenterville, Graceworks,a nonproft, aith-basedorganization, is one o the50 largest employers inthe Miami Valley. A stao nearly 900 employeesearned a payroll thatexceeded $25 million andpaid more than $2 million inpayroll taxes. Graceworksprovided $3.7 million inuncompensated charitycare in 2007.Graceworkswell knownBethany Village seniorliving community has beenabuzz since 2006 whenit launched a $47 million expansion projectthat will enlarge and transorm one o Ohio’smost respected Continuing Care RetirementCommunities.
Thousands of people
in the tri-state area have a sense o peace and saety as a result othe work o Graceworks Lutheran Services. They woke up this morning with hope in theirhearts because they have experienced stability in the ace o uncertainties. Graceworks notonly helps individuals achieve personal benefts, but also provides a proound and positiveeconomic impact on the community as a whole.

Having a place to call “home” is even moreheart-warming in a welcoming, respectulcommunity o good neighbors. Designedor comort, saety, sel-sufciency andconsideration or the physical and emotionalneeds o the residents, Graceworks residentialcommunities add value to neighborhoods in 20counties in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.Graceworks emerged as a leader and trustedprovider o group homes in the early 1980swhen the State o Ohio begandeinstitutionalizing personswith mental retardation anddevelopmental disabilities.First opening two homes inCincinnati in 1983,

provided25 nationally accredited groupresidences and a day programin Butler, Greene, Hamilton andMontgomery counties in 2007or more than 160 individualswith developmental disabilities.Residents in each home developtheir ull potential in sae andsupportive environmentsounded on the principleso gentle teaching, servantleadership and buildingcommunity. apartmentcommunities located in quietresidential neighborhoods.The typical apartment buildinghas 40 clean and secure apartments thatare accessible or people with mobilityimpairments. For nearly two decades,Graceworks Housing Services, through apartnership with the U.S. Department oHousing and Urban Development (HUD), hasprovided comortable, sae places to live orindividuals who are age 62 or older or disabled.Graceworks provided more than $730,000 incharity care in 2007 through Housing Services.
 
Bethany Village is expanding to serve thegrowing population of seniors

is demonstrating its commitment to the Dayton region witha $47 million construction project at
Bethany Village
, its senior living community in Centerville.A nationally accredited Continuing Care Retirement Community, Bethany Village providesresidences or active seniors, assisted living and a range o healthcare services to meet changingneeds, including short-term rehabilitation, memory supportive care and skilled nursing care.
The expansion is one o the largest buildingprojects underway in the south Daytonmetropolitan area and includes 60 newresidences, a Village Center and a MemorySupport Center. The frst step was a massiveexterior renovation o the 11-story Vista Placeapartment residence, the tallest building in thecommunity. But the project is about more thannew buildings. It is about enriching the lives othe community’s growing population o seniors.The Village Center will open in December2008 and create a new “ront door” to thecommunity. The new central gathering placeillustrates Bethany’s ocus on wholeness o lieand includes a Fitness Center, a relaxing Bistro,a Grand Room or large gatherings, a classroomor educational programs and an Art Center orcreating and exhibiting art.The new Memory Support Center will provide ahome-like environment or people experiencingdementia or Alzheimer’s disease. To becompleted in spring 2009, the Center will bedivided into our households. Each householdwill eature 14 private resident rooms, a diningarea, kitchen and living room overlooking acentral courtyard where residents can experiencethe outdoors.When the expansion is completed, Bethanywill be home to approximately 800 older adults.More than 575 elderly people experience skillednursing care and customized rehabilitationprograms each year in the Bethany RehabilitationCenter as they recover rom surgery orhospitalization.
