So some time ago I came across this document that was starting of a pokemon tabletop rpg. It wasn't finished and I felt it didn't work on all aspects. It also lacked a lot of material which I now have included in my own version. Link to the base and inspiration is on the first page.

This guide is meant to people who already now a lot about pokemon since I have singled out a lot of information that seemed self explanatory. Following up attack appendix and someday a ready to play region/campaign .

1.Character creation
1.1.Orientation
Character creation should start from choosing your orientation. This will decide the path you'retaking in the pokémon world whether it's a regular trainer or even a researcher. Your orientation willgive you few skills to start working with and also some ideas of a goal perhaps.
Breeder –
breeders understand pokémon and are dedicted to raising the best. They understand the outcome when certain species mate. Pokémon raised by a breeder tend to grow happier and healthier. Breeders start with pkmnknowledge 2, pkmn handling 2, pkmn healing 1 and with one extra potion intheir pocket.
Coordinator –
coordinator's goal is to make his pokémon look the best theycan and perform attacks with precision. Coordinators start with coordination3, battle 2 and a boosting item according to starter pokémon's type.
Criminal –
not everybody wants to play by the rules and that's when theseguys kick in. Criminals generally do things that make people unhappywhether it's stealing their money or pokémon. This kind of a character wouldstart with either pkmn hunting or pickpocket 4 and merchant 1. Whenchoosing pickpocket you get extra 200 to start with. Pkmn hunting gives youan extra pokéball.
Explorer –
explorers have decided to leave their homes and head of toexplore the unknown. They survive well in the wild and adapt quickly. Anexplorer would start with survival 4 and choose +1 to either cooking, healingor merchant. They get an extra potion.
Martial artist –
masters of body and mind they are experts in training theirselves and their  pokémon. They have practiced atleast one known martial art and are now applying it to their  pokémon. Martial artist starts with training 3, battle 2 and a black belt.
Ranger –
rangers respect nature and try to keep pokémons aswell as traveling trainers safe. Theyavoid capturing pokémon with pokéballs but use capture stylers instead. A ranger starts with acapture styler, pkmn handling 3 and pkmn knowledge 2. Their starter pokémon should be acompanion instead of a one carried in a pokéball.
Researcher –
a researcher seeks anything to be discovered in the pokémon world whether it's a newspecies or a new finding in some species behaviour. They have studied hard to know as much as possible and want to know even more and thus they start with pkmn knowledge 5 and a randomfossil in their bag.
Specialist
– your character feels a special connection to a certain type and mostly seeks and trains pokémons of that specific type. This gives you +1 to pkmn handling, pkmn healing, pkmnknowledge, training and battle whenever dealing with the type you choose when selecting thisorientation. If you start with a pokémon that you are specialized to that pokémon starts with +10 inany base stat besides speed.3

Have to say, this is one of the best versions I've seen yet. It requires a little tweaking on the part of the GM, but overall this makes some very good improvements on CJ's original.
