What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Below is a questionnaire that I handed out to my class mates when they viewed my trailer. All together I handed out ten questionnaires. I handed this out so I could have their opinions on what they thought about my trailer. This questionnaire also covered a range of questions about my trailer. Results from my questionnaire. However if I were to do this project again I would ask the people who did my questionnaire what I could do to make my trailer work more well as a trailer. Question 5 Write down what genre you think it is? 9x horror 1x horror/thriller. This is the result I was hoping for as everyone who saw my trailer new that this was a horror film. This means that I have edited my trailer well and that all the shots go well together.

Most common comments that re appeared from question 6-9. What aspects/features/shots/messages are most effective? Close up of eyes opening, held hand shots as she runs through the house, close up as the doors moving. From these comments I can tell that that the quick close ups worked really well.

What image from the film lingers in your mind after viewing the trailer? The black and white images were really effective and makes this film trailer stand out from other horror films, the shot of the girl through the fish tank (dark vigour shot), close up of the girl screaming. From these comments I can tell that changing my trailer to black and white worked well and that they like the different shots. What did you understand about the films narrative from the trailer? Girl being chased by someone, shes all alone. From these comments I can tell that people understood the plot clearly which means my trailer narrative worked. The length of the trailer? Too short x 1 Just right x 7 Too long x 2 From these comments I can see that my trailer length was the right length. From these results I have concluded that my trailer was a good trailer and that that each of the questions that were asked on this questionnaire got a good response. It tells me that the music actor and images I put together worked well and that the audience knew clearly what my trailer genre was and understood the content of the trailer.
