Hackney Coalition to Save the NHS

What you can do

The Health & Social Care Bill has been passed it has not been implemented n March for the NHS
Join Unite the union and the Coalition of Resistance (umbrella group for unions and groups campaigning against the cuts) in a giant march for the NHS in mid-June. Help us to organise the biggest possible group of people to go on that march we will keep you posted as to the date. We will need help on stalls, leafleting, putting up posters once the date has been decided. Put your name on our contact list so we can let you know what is happening and when. In the spirit of clinically led commissioning, we reserve entirely the right to decide whom we contract with to provide services for our patients. We will take those decisions on the basis of the best interests of our patients and wider local communities, and we will refuse to allow private healthcare companies to be imposed on us from above. In the interests of transparency we will not engage in any contracts which impose conditions of commercial confidentiality. We will also consult local communities before implementing any changes that affect them, and our Board will make all major decisions relating to services in public session. Write to: Dr Clare Highton, Dr Haren Patel, chairs, City and Hackney Clinical Commissioning Group, 1st floor, Lawson Practice, Nuttal St Hackney N1 5LZ. email info@elic.org.uk Write to the Hackney Gazette to tell them

n Ask Hackney Labour to organise a fight-back

Demand Hackney Labour Party use its networks and resources to organise a series of local public meetings in all areas of Hackney to publicise the effects of this Bill on our local community, and build the fight-back against it..

you have written to the CCG GP and enclose a copy of the letter.

n Write to Hackney CCG

Ask City & Hackney Clinical Commissioning Group to agree to the pledge below, and publicise their agreement (by issuing a press release, by putting it up on their GP surgery walls). This CCG (NAME) will uphold the principle of "first do no harm" - we will take no action and adopt no policy that might undermine our patients' continued access to existing local health services that they need, trust and rely upon.
