141 regiments of infantry; 16 cav; 26 arty
Fought in 17 states, mostly western theater.
24,000 Indiana soldiers killed/wounded.

Gibson County in the Civil War
Over 2,000 men fought in the Civil War fromGibson County, many from Scottish Highlanderstock.
Regiments formed from the county include: 17th,24th, 33rd, 42nd, 58th, 65th, 80th, 120th, 136th,143rd; 4th and 10th Cav; 8th IN Battery.
More GC men fought in the 58th (about 350) thanany other regiment.
Gibson County had a population of 30,000 (abt) in1900.
