What does our office do?
Our mission is to provide weather, water, and climate data,forecasts and warnings for the protection of life andproperty and enhancement of the national economy
We provide Alaskan residents and visitors the informationthat they need to plan and prepare for potentiallyhazardous environmental conditions
The Alaska Pacific River Forecast Center works with NWSForecast Offices in Alaska and Hawaii to provide hydrologicguidance to our customers and users. My hope is that this discussion that you are instigating will resonate in a positive way so that the Federal Mitigation Branch (Region X) and the State will work better at allowing a genuine dialogue with local communities.
