Twitteroperatesoneoftheworld'smostpopularonlinecommunicationsplatforms,25withover140millionactiveusers.Twitter'swidespreadsuccesscomesinlargepartbecause26Twitterisdedicatedtoprovidingahighqualityuserexperiencethatpromotesmeaningful27interactionsbetweenitsusers.Amongotherthings,Twitterprotectsitsusers'experienceby28prohibitingavarietyoffraudulentanddeceptivepracticesontheTwitterplatform,whichTwitter
 
1referstocollectivelyas"spam."Twitterhasdeployedahostofhumanandtechnological2measurestodetectandcombatspamontheTwitterplatform.32.Bythisaction,TwitterseekstoholdDefendantsandthosewhocontinuetoplythe4spamtradeaccountableforthecostsoftheirmisconduct,andfurthersafeguarditsplatformand5usersfromblatantlyabusiveactivities.63,Asdescribedbelow;certainDefendantsreferredtobelowasthe"Spamware7Defendants"distributesoftwaretoolsdesignedtofacilitateabuseoftheTwitterplatformand8marketedtodupeconsumersintoviolatingTwitter'suseragreement.Theremaining"Spammer9Defendants"operatelargenumbersofautomatedTwitteraccountsthroughwhichtheyattemptto10trickTwitterusersintoclickingonlinkstoillegitimatewebsites,againinviolationofTwitter's11useragreement.1213
