Description

Two sides of the pit bull issue are discussed by experts in this article. When viewed side-by-side, one can see just how far pit bull advocates will go to distort the truth about the breed. For instance, Delise's books are self-published and the National Canine Research Council is nothing more than a pit bull special interest group. The validity of data gathered by either is highly questionable.

In 2008, after a Labrador puppy killed an infant in Tulsa, hundreds and hundreds of articles were published about the story. This received far more press than many fatal pit bull attacks. This is also true about the fatal mauling of Addison Sonney, who was killed by the family's sheepdog. In the instance of Robert Howard -- killed by a stray pit bull 8/16/08 -- only one media article was written about the attack.
