A Guide To Audio Learning -Educate Yourself When You Have Absolutely No Time
By Raffael Kellner; April 7th, 2012; Bratislava
You are an incredible human being!
You know that you can achieve great things in your life, for yourself and others! You are intelligent, in good shape, willing to learn and give what ittakes!Unfortunately, right now your day might rather look like this: You have a new job, project, venture
or work in a tough environment where things are changing fast… Problems
are allover the place and everybody expects you to have solved them yesterday rather than today. You have no time for anything. Stress! Even worse: You have no time for learning, for thepersonal and professional development that would give you the skills to get things undercontrol. Sound familiar? If yes, this article is for you.
Fortunately, there is a way to make things easier: audiolearning.

In this article, I’d like to talk about
a method that has tremendously helped me to acquireknowledge and needed skills, in a fun way and in no time.
And I’d be happy if you benefit
from it, too.
Good morning: chocolate cream sandwiches for my stomach, auditory learning for my brain.

The Idea Behind Audio Learning: Learning In No Time
Since entering university,
I’ve always been
fascinated by the question: How can I learn moreeffectively?Honestly, the classic methods that my university colleagues, professors and I applied during
my studies were certainly not the ones that I’d recommend today. Stupid me, it took me
until after graduation in 2009 to get seriously involved with
the ‘science of learning’.
Had Ilearned about the methods before that, it would have saved me a lot of time and pain.Anyway, after working as a German language lecturer at a university, finding the rightliterature on the matter (Great stuff:
Colin Rose, www.goo.gl/sbXxB), and consulting education psychologists during the productdevelopment of  Lingibli
,I’ve learned that there are ways of learning where I make
nocompromise on fun, time, quality or convenience
.The idea is l
earning while I’m doing other things at the same time. Simply switch on an audio
player and listen to relevant knowledge. My method of audio learning is:
Listening to relevant knowledge from audio books andpodcasts from my MP
3 player, smartphone or Kindle while I’m doing other
low-concentration, everyday activities.
These activities can be: Making my breakfast in themorning, commuting to work, shopping in the supermarket, cleaning up my flat or hittingthe gym after work. There are so many chunks of time every day when I can put on my
earphones, push a button and learn something while I’m doing something else.
This is
learning that doesn’t require any extra time.
In this simple way, I free up between 60 and 90minutes extra learning time every day.60 to 90 minutes of extra daily learning - that is 7 to 10 hours of learning every week, enough to cover a whole audio book or 10-20 podcasts every week.
That’s 4 books or 40
-80podcasts per month, 52 books or 520-1,040 podcast per year! Now just think about it...
That’s an equivalent of
44 to 66 8-hour days of learning every year, or up to two months of full-time training!
Imagine how much you would know about your professional field. Howmany new skills you would have that make it easier and more fun to be successful in whatyou do. What change would that make to your overall satisfaction and financial situation?Brian Tracy says,
‘In order to earn more, you must learn more!’ I have no doubt he is right…
And all it takes is the equipment, the content and a change in your habits.
Based on Entrepreneurial Lessons from Launching Lingibli
The recommendations are based on my experiences and thoughts from time working on thelaunch of Lingibli. During this time it had become necessary to know everything from projectmanagement, product development, marketing, technology, finance, accounting, law, taxes, our field of business
and entrepreneurship… For example, I’ll be very open with you when I
say that in essential project management techniques I had been somewhat behind my co-

founder Milan and it certainly didn’t feel nice when I realized that I had those deficits.
Consequently, I listened to project management literature for weeks. Milan will probably
stay the best project manager since he has a natural talent for it but there’s no doubt thatI’ve been catching up :
-)
Everyday habit: Leaving my flat, switching on my MP3 player.
Furthermore
, I’m not saying that
learning by listening will be equally effective for everybody
 –
science has proven that every person has a different learning style(great post on this byPat Wyman, www.goo.gl/OG2Nq). This article is mostly based on my personal experiences,
and just for the record, I’m not a learn
ing psychologist myself.
However, I’m absolutely convinced
: Audio learning can be one of the most effective personaldevelopment methods for everybody. Many of my friends have utilized the method after Ishared it with them, telling me that it works for them and encouraging me to share myexperiences with the public.
So here we go…
