Begger the banker Who told you to save. Slug the uncle You never forgave. Will the wild woman Your worst love. Keep your white laughter For a dark-hearted girl. Give her your overcoat, A pocket full of tokens And a one way ticket To West Hoboken. You can kiss if you dance But not if you stagger. Bind your sore ankles And waltz out of danger. In a season of shivers Your world grows cold. Your choices are fewer Than winters birds.
