Greetings,
Paul Burks here.
Lately there has been some online comments concerning some Zeek affiliates whose accounts were recently deactivated and a lot of speculation about why this was done. I just want to set the record straight about this unfortunate situation.
The United States Government has established an Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) through the US Treasury Department. This Federal agency maintains a list of “sanctioned countries” that is published on this website:
http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/sanctions/Programs/Pages/Programs.aspx
Under USlaw it is illegal for a USbased individual or company to do business with individuals of companies in those countries. The penalties for violating these sanctions range from very large fines up to 30 years imprisonment.
When we became aware that there were affiliates in our system who were from these prohibited countries we had no choice but to remove them from the program. It is understandable that they and their sponsors are frustrated and unhappy with this action but we had no other choice.
The process of refunding all payments made by these affiliates has already begun. Because many of them appear to have been enrolled by USaffiliates who made payments for them, we have not been able to identify all of these for refunding. If you have been affected by this and have not yet been refunded all that you purchased please use this special dedicated email address to contact us:
ZeekOFACRefunds@gmail.com
Be sure to include in your email the following information:
1) Your Username 2) The email address that is registered with Zeek 3) A list of ALL payments you have made since joining, including subscription payments, bid purchases and any other payments and definme how you made those payments. DO NOTsend entire credit card numbers through email. Only use the last four digits of the number. If you paid by AlertPay or SolidTrustPay include the reference or transaction number of those payments We will process these refunds in the order they are received.
Please do NOTuse this email address for any other support issues. Any non-related issues will be deleted.
As a company owner I can tell you that it is NEVER a peasant thing to have to remove anyone from the program, especially when the people involved did nothing wrong. In this case they were simply victims of a political situation they had no part in causing or perpetuating. Sadly, they were just caught in the crossfire. On a more pleasant note, we are making great progress with the server upgrades and credit card processing issues. I just spoke with Alberto and he reports that they expecct our new state-of-the-art server load-balancers to be in place before month’s end. I’m also expecting the credit card gateway issues to be completely managed this week!
Thanks again for your patience and for putting up with the “growing pains” as we continue to ramp up for the future. Look for a greatly expanded auction schedule and more exciting product offerings in the very near future as well!
Have a great holiday weekend!!
To your MASSIVE success!
