Despite the ownershipchange, the Curve ranchise enjoyed its most successul seasonto that point, drawing 363,871 ans to Blair County Ballpark.Between the 2002 and ‘03 seasons, Blair County Ballpark underwent its rst major capital expansion project, as a newthird-base Picnic Area, let-eld Party Deck and outeld reserved seating section were constructed. The additions o the new areas brought the seating capacity o the ballpark to just over 7,200 and created enough room to hold nearly10,000 ans on any night.During the 2003 season, the Curve, led by third-year manager

took the ranchise to new heights on theeld, posting a 78-63 regular season record and securing the club’s rst-ever Eastern League postseason berth. The Curvewould lose to the eventual E.L. Champion Akron Aeros three-games-to-one in the rst round o the playos. The playo run helped uel yet another ranchise attendance record as 365,376 ans came through the gates at Blair County Ballpark.In 2004, the Curve, managed by

, nished with a league-best 85-56 record and not only returned to theplayos, but took the next step and advanced to the Eastern League Championship Series or the rst time in club his-tory beore losing to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. The ‘04 season also turned out to be abanner year at the gates as the Curve added a th consecutive ranchise attendance recordater drawing 394,062 ans to Blair County Ballpark. The 2005 edition o the Curve reached postseason play in dramatic ashion, sweeping a our-game road series rom Bowie during the nal weekend o the season to reach the playos ora third consecutive season. Despite losing in the rst round o the playos, the Curve won bigearlier in the season when the ranchise was named the host o the 2006 E.L. All-Star Game.Altoona would have a banner year in 2006. The highlight o the season,and arguably the top moment in the rst eight seasons o Curve base-ball, came on July 12th when Altoona played host to the 2006 EasternLeague All-Star Game. as the 2006 winner o theDouble-A Bob Freitas Award. The 2007 season proved to be a year in which the Curve continued their winning ways, as the clubmarched on to its sixth consecutive winning season.
