Grants.gov provides a singleGovernment-wide portal for finding and applying for Federal grants online.In response to this program solicitation, proposers may opt to submitproposals via Grants.gov or via the NSF FastLane system. In determiningwhich method to utilize in the electronic preparation and submission of theproposal, please note the following:Collaborative Proposals. All collaborative proposals submitted as separate
 
submissions from multiple organizations must be submitted via the NSFFastLane system. Chapter II, Section D.3 of the Grant Proposal Guideprovides additional information on collaborative proposals.Dissemination proposals have been renamed Outreach and Communicationproposals to better reflect the intent of the proposal competition.SUMMARY OF PROGRAM REQUIREMENTSGeneral InformationProgram Title:Research on Gender in Science and Engineering FY 2007 (GSE)Synopsis of Program:The program seeks to broaden the participation of girls and womenin all fields of science, technology, engineering, andmathematics (STEM) education by supporting research,dissemination of research, and extension services in educationthat will lead to a larger and more diverse domestic science andengineering workforce. Typical projects will contribute to theknowledge base addressing gender-related differences in learningand in the educational experiences that affect student interest,performance, and choice of careers; and how pedagogicalapproaches and teaching styles, curriculum, student services, andinstitutional culture contribute to causing or closing gendergaps that persist in certain fields.
