Cancer

Cancer is a deadly disease that kills hundreds of thousands of Americans alone each year. Without early detection it can be deadly and spread throughout ones body and infect vital organs. With new technology and constant research by scientists a cure is sure to be found. But until then we have to live smart and avoid certain things to prevent getting cancer. Cancer is uncontrolled mitosis. When cells reproduce they divide into new cells. But with cancer the cells form when not needed and old cells do not die when they are supposed to. So with all of these extra cells a mass is formed which is then called a tumor or growth. These tumors are one of two kinds, benign or malignant. Benign tumors are harmless to humans, and doctors remove them most of them time. Another good thing about a tumor being benign is that its cells will not break off and travel through the bloodstream allowing it to spread throughout the body. But most importantly benign tumors are not a threat on human life. Malignant tumors are cancerous and very deadly. The cells can invade other organs and tissues and infect them with the disease. This spreading of the cancer cells occurs most often through the bloodstream. Spreading of the cancer throughout.
