Medication should not be used

Various drugs can exacerbate symptoms of myasthenia gravis. o Antibiotics (eg, aminoglycosides, ciprofloxacin, erythromycin, ampicillin) o Beta-adrenergic receptor blocking agents (eg, propranolol, oxprenolol) o Lithium o Magnesium o Procainamide o Verapamil o Quinidine o Chloroquine o Prednisone o Timolol (ie, a topical beta-blocking agent used for glaucoma) o Anticholinergics (eg, trihexyphenidyl) Neuromuscular blocking agents, including vecuronium and curare, should be used cautiously in myasthenics to avoid prolonged neuromuscular blockade.
