Eureka! I have found it! A school that has everything I want. They are free to teach about Christianity and Jesus. The Bible is a text book! The students and teachers can pray aloud. They are not required to teach evolution, gay history and alternative, sexual lifestyle choices. The students are not bombarded with peer pressure and bullying. The class size is small and students get a lot of one-on-one attention. Students advance at their own pace rather than having to wait for classmates to catch up. The teachers love the children like their own. And the best part is, its FREE! Private Home Education is what I have found. Parents can legally homeschool their children in California. They are exempt from attendance in public school under the private school exemption. As required by law each year, schools must le a Private School A davit. They must teach in the required branches of education and must teach in English. They must maintain the records required by the state. The rest is up to them. I have been the teacher at our small, private school for 15 years and I love it. There are usually the typical objections to home schooling. What about socialization? If socialization is what they learn in the public school system, then I prefer to have my children civilized rather than socialized. To socialize is de ned as to give somebody the skills required for functioning successfully in society or in a particular society. Home schooling is the PERFECT place to do this. Children learn how to get along with all ages of society, not just their peer group. They learn to treat others with respect and to interact with them in a mature and well-mannered way. They learn to be courteous to adults as well as to be gentle and caring to children. They learn to stand up for what they believe in with pride and conviction, without violence, bullying or disrespect toward others. Is that what they would learn by being socialized in the public school system? One major misconception about homeschooling is that children are somehow isolated and unable to function and interact with others. On the contrary, these children have been known to mature more quickly and handle more responsibility at a younger age. Homeschooling Grows Up, HSLDAs 2004 research report by Dr. Brian D. Ray of the National Home Education Research Institute, o ers data showing that homeschooled teens are successfully integrating into society. There is very little evidence of teenage rebellion, and signicant numbers of students demonstrate their maturity by being involved in their communities and generally report a good relationship with their parents. Activities, eld trips and sports are common amongst the homeschool community and yes, they actually have many friends outside their home. Our goal is to teach our children to become e ective and successful adults. Is the best way to learn this by insisting they only interact primarily with children their own age? Absolutely not. We expose them to positive role models and adults in our family, church and community. We equip them with the knowledge and resources to be successful in all areas of their lives. What about testing? Are they really learning? How do they score academically when compared to the average public school student? Drawing from 15 independent testing services, the Progress Report 2009: Homeschool Academic Achievement and Demographics included 11,739 homeschooled students from all 50 states who took three well-known testsCalifornia Achievement Test, Iowa Tests of Basic Skills, and Stanford Achievement Test for the 200708 academic year. The Progress Report is the most comprehensive homeschool academic study ever completed. This study shows that homeschoolers scored an average of 37 percentile points higher than the public school students. Some colleges speci cally seek out homeschoolers because of their increasing reputation as strong, hard-working students. How can these children learn from adults who are not always certi ed teachers? The answer is a simple one. They teach children how to learn. Did you ever wonder why the sky is blue? Or why an apple falls o a tree? Or which size of canned tomatoes is a better buy? Lets gure it out together, is usually the answer. Every question is a learning opportunity and a chance to equip children with knowledge. Homeschooling provides limitless opportunities to teach ourselves and our children. What a gift. In addition, there are numerous, supplemental resources and classes within the local homeschooling community as well as online correspondence courses. There is no limit to what can be taught or learned. There is no higher calling on a parent than to raise a child. We are blessed to have the freedom to homeschool in California. Through private homeschooling, parents maintain their God-given right and responsibility to train up their children in the way they should go. And it is working!

CFRW Advocacy Notes

The Party with Perspectives
The Republicans in the state legislature introduced their alternative budget to that of Governor Brown. Republican leaders addressed the issue of Governor Browns plan of trigger cuts to schools if Californians do not pass the Governors tax initiative by stating, The state budget is a re ection of priorities and there is no reason to hold our schools hostage to the uncertainties of the proposed tax increase initiative that may not bene t our students. The Republican budget does not include any new taxes and still cuts the $9.2 billion de cit, without impairing our schools or taxpayers. Even though Republicans have o ered an alternative budget plan, Democrats may still be able to pass a budget with the ability of a simple majority by taking the tax increases directly to the voters. The Governors May budget revise is just around the corner and the budget battle is sure to heat up. Keep up with the Capitol Update!

Francis Marion (1732-1795) was a brigadier general in the South Carolina Militia during the American Revolutionary War. He became known as the Swamp Fox because he set up his base of operations in a swamp. Marions Brigade was a volunteer force that could assemble at a moments notice, hit British and Loyalist units and garrisons, then disappear into the swamps. He is considered one of the fathers of modern guerrilla warfare. After the war, Marion served in the state Senate of South Carolina for several terms. He stated: Who can doubt that God created us to be happy and thereto made us to love one another? It is plainly written as the Gospel. The heart is sometimes so embittered that nothing but Divine love can sweeten it, so enraged that devotion can only becalm it, and so broken down that it takes all the forces of heavenly hope to raise it. When we witness the embittered political war lled with hateful rhetoric that is going on in our nation today, it seems that nothing but Divine love can sweeten it. We can only hope and pray that our leaders still believe in in a God of love and mercy and recognize that Divine guidance is needed if our country is to continue enjoying blessings from God.

Advocacy Workshop
You can still register for our 37th Annual Advocacy Workshop! Advocacy is April 16-17 in Sacramento.
There is still space left, but rooms at the Downtown Sacramento Hyatt are going fast, so reserve your room today! Visit CFRWs website for more information on the workshop. We will be hearing from Senator Jean Fuller, California Republican Party Communications gurus Micah Grant and Patrick Williams, our very own CFRW Legislative Analysts and many more! Students will have the opportunity to participate in an intensive campaign management workshop, giving them the tools necessary to be informed and e ective volunteers and someday candidates! You do not want to miss Advocacy! This year is unique for our Advocacy Workshop. Since it is a pivotal election year in California, Republican Women realize that every volunteer should have the knowledge to be able to contribute to our Republican Victory campaigns, even high school students. Republican Women have always been volunteer leaders across the state, so it is only natural that we train the next generation of Republican leaders. This year the CFRW is hosting its rst ever Campaign Management school for our high school guests. Our students will learn the ins and outs of a campaign- What is a platform? Who makes up an e ective and e cient campaign? What are social media dos and donts. And most importantly, how they can get involved NOW. This is a one of a kind opportunity for our students and we are excited to have them!

In The News: Supreme Courts health-care ruling could deal dramatic blow to Obama presidency
Things did not look very good for President Obama and the Democratic Partys Obamacare law. Justice Stephen Breyer, one of four Democratic appointees to the Supreme Court, laughed at solicitor general Donald Verrilli for repeatedly using the phrase tax penalty to describe what you must pay if you do not buy or otherwise obtain health insurance by 2015. - Don Surber/Daily Mail "This was a train wreck for the Obama administration. This law looks like it's going to be struck down," (Je rey) Toobin said on CNN. "All of the predictions including mine that the justices would not have a problem with this law were wrong." CNN

The stakes could not be higher.

If Obamacare is upheld, it fundamentally changes the nature of the American social contract. It means the e ective end of a government of enumerated powers i.e., nite, delineated powers beyond which the government may not go, beyond which lies the free realm of the people and their voluntary institutions. The new post-Obamacare dispensation is a central government of unlimited power from which citizen and civil society struggle to carve out and maintain spheres of autonomy. Figure becomes ground; ground becomes gure. The stakes could not be higher.... - Charles Krauthammer/National Review

The latest chart from the Republican side of the Senate Budget Committee, showing that under President Obama's budget plan, debt would be $73,000 per American in 2022: -

In a rare show of unanimous bipartisanship, House Democrats and Republicans united in their opposition to President Obama's 2013 budget, which failed tonight with 414 votes against and zero in favor of the budget. Such opposites as Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Rep. Michele Bachmann joined each other in voting against the bill, but the White House preemptively dismissed the tally.

Biggest act of bipartisanship yet: Obama budget defeated 414-0

Weekly Standard

As of April 10, it will be the 1,076th day since Congress passed a yearly budget for the federal government.
The fault does not lie with Congress as a whole. The House has passed budgets. Senate Republicans have tried to do the same. But after passing a budget resolution in 2009, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has refused to allow passage of a new budget in 2010, 2011, and, it appears, 2012 as well.

Americanism Report
New Word: Ineptocracy Could not nd it in my old Webster's. Googled it and discovered it is a recently coined word found on a T-shirt on eBay!! (in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the con scated wealth of a diminishing number of producers. ...Finally, a word to describe our current political situation. "Take it easy on Obama--it's his rst job!" "1-20-13--The end of an Error..." "OBUMMER" "And we thought Carter sucked!" "Don't blame me--I voted for the American." "Islamic terrorists are like king salmon: life is good until the Seals show up." "U want change? Duh Bro gotta Go!" (worn by a young black man) "Obama and God have only one thing in common: No Birth Certi cate! The di erence is God doesn't think He's Obama!" -------------And best for last--Pres. Debbie's great t-shirt says:

T-Shirt Wisdom

The city of Stockton's current crisis is only the beginning of collapse for other California cities. Residents of the city are asking, 'What happened?'
Basic city services are shutting down, crime is rampant, business windows are being boarded up. The crisis can be blamed on the unsustainable city pensions and Labor Union agreements for lavish bene ts. Currently, there are 94 retirees that have annual pensions of $100.000 or more and it is costing $400 million for employee health care. Across the state, municipalities are making promises to Labor Unions that they can't keep. The dwindling working taxpayer is expected to pick up this heavy tax burden.

Spotted on other t-shirts:

It's springtime and time to watch closely legislation that Democrat legislators are gearing up to introduce.
AB 1657 Wieckowski (D-Fremont) would increase embryonic stem cell research and AB1700 Butler (D-El Segundo) would amend property tax law in an attempt to protect same-sex partners upon the death of one or the other.

"Preserve capitalism -Occupy the White House Jan. 2013!"

"Hi, this is Gov. Jerry Brown"

Gov. Jerry Brown is turning to robotic telephone calls and mailers in his race to qualify a tax initiative for the November ballot. - Sacramento Bee Capitol Alert Brown and his allies are now trying to collect more than 800,000 valid voter signatures required to qualify for the November ballot. Time is short, and the use of mail is an indication of how expensive paid signature gathering by clipboard has become for the initiative campaign - at a cost of perhaps $3 per signature on the street.
