IAN CASTLE
has lived in London all his life and balances writing with workin the advertising industry. He has been writing for Osprey for over
15
years.This is his second book exploring his interest in early aviation history,following previous books on aspects of the Napoleonic Wars and colonialconflicts in southern Africa, his other great passions. Ian regularly lecturesat the National Army Museum in London and is a member of
the
AirshipHeritage Trust.
TONY BRYAN
is a freelance illustrator of many years' experience who livesand works in Dorset. He initially qualified in Engineering and worked for anumber of years in Military Research and Development, and has a keeninterest in military hardware - armour, small
arms,
aircraft and
ships.
Tonyhas produced many illustrations for partworks, magazines and books,including a number of
titles
in the New Vanguard series.
GIUSEPPE RAVA
was born in Faenza in
1963,
and took an interest inall things military from an early
age.
Entirely self-taught, Giuseppe hasestablished himself
as
a leading military history artist, and is inspired bythe works of the great militaryartists,such as Detaille, Meissonier, Rochling,Lady Butler, Ottenfeld and Angus McBride. He lives and works in Italy.
