Minutes from the Meeting of Digbeth Residents Association(DRA) and Neighbourhood Watch on Monday 5

DRA has been registered as a walking group for the St Patrick
s Parade; email will be sent toall members to encourage them to participate, and this will also be promoted via the website.
2b. Island HouseJoe Holyoak reported that Island House has been demolished. Lessons learned for thefuture include the need for a volunteer to keep abreast of planning applications in Digbeth, tokeep DRA informed of any arising issues and to contact Birmingham City Council or ourlocal MP on our behalf.2c. Digbeth SummitIt is hoped that documents reporting the outcomes of the Digbeth Summit will be preparedready for the DRA meeting in May.2d. Fundraising StrategyWith the fundraising received from Reclaim our Streets, West Midlands Police andCommunity Chest, the need for DRA to have a strategy/budget on how to spend suchmonies is becoming more urgent.3. Planning ReportDRA Planning Liaison Julie Brown sent a report to the meeting. This will be circulated withthe minutes.The Connaught Square site is to be sold; Sandra Hall offered to appeal to the new/currentowners to clear the site so that it could be (albeit temporarily) used as a public park. DRAwould seek the support of other organisations, including Edible Eastside, Project Pigeon andBirmingham Friends of the Earth in this appeal.

4. Discussion of the roles of Committee MembersVal Woodward was hoping to have a discussion of the roles of committee members, but dueto the low turnout, this will be postponed until the next committee meeting.
