the verses you forgot to quote in galatians:
"Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified...For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God." Galatians 2:16,19
in our new lives in Christ, it doesn't matter if we follow the letter of the law down to our diets. isn't that kind of strict legalism what Jesus berated the pharisees for? christ's sacrifice, the creation of the new covenant, removes the need for strict adherence to the law. not to say that those things aren't good, but christians are not going to go to hell if they don't regulate their diet according to old covenant standards. the law is not the focus; it is Christ.
